A Weekend in Nashville (with no kids!)

We planned a weekend to Nashville - kid free one weekend in October. The girls stayed here with babysitters for two nights and had a great time while we were gone. We had a great time also. I love my girls dearly, but it's always nice to get to just talk without being interupted or distracted or getting to eat a dinner and actually taste the food and not inhale it.

Paul scored big husband points when he bought tickets for us to go see The Gymnastics Superstars 2008 - a gymnastics show that involved many of the gymnasts from the Olympic teams. I warned him before time that this would not be a "normal" gymnastics performance - they add a lot of dancing and theater stuff to the performance, but he still was kind enough to take me. It was pretty cool. We got to see Shawn Johnson, Nastia Liukin, the entire men's Olympic team along with some others. It was a very entertaining night.

(Not great pics, but just to prove we were there)

The next day we went to see Fort Negley, which is an old civil war fort in Nashville. Paul's parents were with us as we were dropping them off at the airport that afternoon.
The fort is on top of a hill and there are some remanents of the old walls there. It is a pretty fun site to walk around.

In Nashville, there is also the only life size replica of the Parthenon in Greece. Inside there is a museum, which we did not go in, and while it was nice to walk around, I would love to see it in Greece!
